On April 26, members of our staff attended (and FSI co-sponsored) the Jump$tart Coalition’s Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill. During this event, we were able to share with members of Congress and their staffs information and materials on the financial literacy activities of some of our member firms.
This year’s event – which we wrote about earlier –featured an open-house exhibition of financial literacy resources, programs, and educational initiatives by more than 60 individual participants from the business, financial, educational non-profit, trade association, academic, and government sectors. Co-chairs Rep. Hinojosa (D-TX) and Rep. Steven Stivers (R-OH) spoke at the event, and attended an open lunch where they spoke about issues of importance to the community.
It was a great day, and we had a great time spending the day talking about financial education and interacting with members of Congress!
