Over the years, the FSI Forum and Capitol Hill Day have emerged as must-attend events, offering attendees valuable insights, along with practical tips and tools for how they can improve their businesses. The biggest problem for many members, however, was time: there simply wasn’t enough of it to attend both events each year.
That in part is why this year, we decided to combine these two bedrock events, holding them back-to-back from September 9–11 in Washington, D.C. The first-ever FSI Forum & Capitol Hill Day is an opportunity, all in one place and for a great price, to not only learn more about the latest legislative and regulatory issues facing the industry, but to participate as a citizen advocate as we visit the Capitol to share our perspectives with key lawmakers.
The first day of the event will begin with the Advancing Women in Leadership Luncheon, followed by a cybersecurity-themed workshop on “How Do You Run a Secure Office?” Both gatherings require attendees to register in advance. Later in the day, the opening general session officially kicks off the event, highlighted by a briefing from the FSI Advocacy Team on the current state of play for both federal and state issues impacting the industry.
Day two will feature four concurrent sessions, including “Reg BI: Implementation of the Final Rule”; “D.C.’s Impact on Your Business & Your Impact on D.C.”; “Grassroots 101: Continue Advocating when You Get Back Home;” and “FSI Issues—Deep Dive.” Whether this is your first time or you’re a Capitol Hill Day veteran, by the end of these sessions you’ll be thoroughly prepared to spend the next day on the Hill advocating for your business and your clients’ access to your professional advice.
Mara Liasson will headline day two’s general session. Ms. Liasson, a commentator for NPR and a Fox News Analyst, will give an overview of the present political environment based on her more than 30 years working as a D.C.-based journalist.
The event will wrap up with a full day of meetings on Capitol Hill. For elected officials, few things are as impactful as meeting with constituents personally to hear their concerns, so we look forward to enabling our members to play the vital role of citizen advocate. Whether it’s supporting stronger protections against elder financial abuse or fighting to help Americans save more effectively for retirement, when lawmakers hear the individual voices of their voters, it makes a difference in how they view the issues that matter for our industry.
For your convenience, FSI has also negotiated discounted rates at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. for the event. Please reserve your room today online or call them directly at 877- 212-5752 (be sure to reference the FSI Forum). The special rate will expire August 19.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Washington, D.C. in September!
